Race Information

What:
The 9th Annual Jackalope Loop is a fundraising event for the Downtown Clinic in Laramie. The race is open to all ages. Runners, walkers and wheel chair participants are invited.

Runners recieve T-shirt and post race goodies. There will also be door prizes for participants.

Proceeds from Jackalope Loop 2010 will be given to the Downtown Clinic in Laramie

The purpose of the Downtown Clinic is to provide free professional non-emergent primary acute and chronic care to persons without the financial resources to access medical care. In order to assist them in achieving and maintaining their physical, emotional and social health we seek to serve as an entry point to the social and health care systems.

We believe there are many persons in our community who do not seek medical attention when it is needed because of financial issues. We believe that health care is a right deserved by all, regardless of financial status. We believe this clinic will benefit the entire community, since healthy people are more likely to be productive and satisfied with life.


Here is what $100 can buy:
  • 12 CBC (Complete blood counts)
  • 10 TSH (Thyroid stimulating hormone)
  • 10 FBS (fasting blood sugars)
  • 9 Lipid panels (cholesterol, etc.)

It costs the Downtown Clinic about $9.45 per prescription, so $100 would buy about 10 prescriptions.

When:
The race will be held on April 3rd, 2010, starting at 10:00 am. Race Day Registration opens at 8:30 am.

Where:
The race starts at the Optimist Park in West Laramie (Maps). The course meanders on the beautiful greenbelt trail south of Optimist Park. The course is relatively flat with 1/4 mile markers.

Registration:

  • Early Registration (received by March 31st) is $17.
  • Race day and late (after March 31st) registration is $22.
  • Additional $5 discount for High Plains Harriers members

Prizes:
Prizes abound for racers due to the continued generosity of local merchants and supporters throughout Albany County. There will be overall awards, age group awards AND.... door prizes!!!!!
