2009 Pilot Hill 25K Classic
Saturday, June 6

Date & Time:

Saturday, June7, 2008
Race begins promptly at 7:30 AM (you'll thank me for this!). Race Day registration from 6:30 to 7:15 AM.

Registration and Start Location:

Corner of 30th St. and Willett Dr, next to Ivinson Memorial Hospital.

Post Race:

Breakfast catered by French Creek Catering of Laramie. Goodies include yogurt and granola, eggs, ham, fruit and breakfast burritos. Included in registration fee. Additional tickets for non-running friends and family can be purchased for $6.00 each.

Course Information:

The race begins winding through the sandy flats on the east end of town. After what seems like 40 years of wandering you begin the slow climb, through Owl Canyon (what a hoot!), pass the duckponds, across limestone outcroppings, up Devil's Staircase, and finally the switchbacks to the top of Pilot Hill. Then its ankle-busting and full speed ahead for the downhill descent! The trail is mostly "two-track" on seldom used jeep roads across mostly (85%) private land.

Aid Stations:

A total of 3 aid stations (two of which will be passed both on the way up and down) with one at the top. Over the 15.5 mile course you can expect an aid station every 2.5 to 3 miles. Aid Stations will be stocked with water, Gatoraide, gauze, and band-aids.

Weather:

Who knows...its Wyoming, so maybe snow, maybe 80 degrees, but at 7:30 in the morning the wind should be blowing less the 40 mph.

Age Groups and Awards:

Awards to the top three male and female runners in three age categories (0-34, 35-49, 50 and over).

Course Map and Profile:

Coming soon...for now suffice to say it goes up about 1500 ft, then comes down about 1500 ft.
