She’s a Runner Girl Information
The High Plains Harriers have long been dedicated to bringing the adult running community together through racing and social events. The club is now also serving some of the young up-and-coming runners in Laramie. Each spring, the High Plains Harriers will offer the She’s A Runner Girl program to girls in 2nd thru 6th grades.

Who: Girls in 2nd thru 6th grades from all elementary schools in Laramie
What: Fun, supportive, and active curriculum-based program that combines running and confidence-building activities for lifelong healthy living
When: Tuesday evenings, April 11th through May 16th, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM
Where: Indoor track at the University of Wyoming field house (unless otherwise noted)
Goal: The program culminates with the 31st Annual Hapi-ness 5K on Saturday, May 20th at the Laramie Junior High School.
Entry: $20, this includes the six weekly sessions, a She’s A Runner Girl T-shirt, entrance to the Hapi-ness 5K race, the Hapi-ness race T-shirt, and membership into the High Plains Harriers
How: Fill out a She’s a Runner Girl Application/HPH membership form. Mail the form to Peggy McCrackin, PO Box 655, Laramie, WY 82073 (LINK to Application) or Online registration HERE APPLICATIONS DUE MARCH 28
Need-based Scholarships Available: Scholarships include 50% discount on entry ($10), a new pair of running shoes, and athletic socks. If you require a need-based scholarship, please fill out the form on the back of the application have your daughter write a letter containing a short paragraph explaining why she would like to be a Runner Girl. Make sure the application is turned in by March 28. Scholarships will be awarded by April 4th.
CALL FOR COACHES
Join fellow Laramie female runners as coaches in the 7th Annual She’s A Runner Girl program! As a coach, you will lead small groups of girls through a different pre-scheduled activity each week, games, goal making, and stretching. You will also have the opportunity to run with the girls during the weekly training runs and during the Hapi-ness 5K.
