Our Mission
High Plains Harriers strives to bring together the Laramie running community by hosting races, group runs, and supporting local nonprofits with race proceeds.
Our Races
Held the first weekend of June, Pilot Hill is the oldest continuously run footrace in Wyoming and features double and singletrack right in Laramie’s backyard. A portion of race proceeds are donated to Pilot Hill Inc.
Join us for a 10 mile round trip adventure each September. This race has 2,000 feet of climbing and tops out at Jelm Mountain Observatory at 9,600 feet. A portion of race proceeds are donated to Albany County Search and Rescue.
Organized in 2002, this race honors the memory of eight University of Wyoming cross country athletes who were killed in a motor vehicle collision in 2001. This 10 mile race takes place every October at Tie City.
A little bit of snow never stopped us! Sign up for a single or double 10-mile loop around Twin Mountain in January. Come for the challenge, stay for the camaraderie and hot soup!
Group Runs
Running is more fun with friends! Subscribe to our newsletter and follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Strava to stay in the loop with current group runs.
We are always looking for volunteers to lead group runs - if this interests you, let us know at highplainsharriers@gmail.com.
