FAQs

Browse below to view some of our most frequently asked questions. We do our best to cover some of the more common ones, but if you still can’t find what you’re looking for, send us an email and we’ll get back to you as quickly as we can.

  • Do I need to be a member to participate in HPH events?

Do you like to run? Then no, of course not. We encourage everyone to get involved no matter your experience level, so we no longer offer paid memberships, but we might ask you to sign a waiver at an event just in case!

  • How do I sign up for a HPH race?

Races can be found on our homepage or event calendar with more info on where and how to sign up. Read the descriptions and follow the links like they say to do.

  • How do I join a group run?

All of our group runs are posted on our event calendar, social media, or you can join our newsletter to stay in the know. If you follow us on Strava and don’t see it posted there, it probably never happened, because, ya know… those are the rules.

  • How do I lead a group run?

You must be there every week, must be properly trained and medically able, and you must start by giving kudos to everyone who shows up. We are always looking for volunteers like you to lead group runs. If this sounds like your thing, please email highplainsharriers@gmail.com to coordinate.

  • Can I bring my dog to HPH events?

Yes! We love dogs (who doesn’t?), but we ask that Fluffy please be well-behaved and that you follow all leash rules if joining for a group run. Before bringing your pup to a race, please check the race guidelines or contact the race director to confirm.

  • How can I sponsor HPH events?

If you are interested in sponsoring one of our upcoming races or events, we will happily take your money and run (because we’re runner, remember?). Jokes aside, we’ll give you all of the marketing benefits we can offer, too. Please contact the race director for the event and they’ll take it from there.

  • How can I volunteer for HPH races?

Whether you are looking to support your fellow runners, are an injured POS this season, or are looking for more ways to give back, volunteering is a great way to get involved. Please email the race director and they’ll tell you what to do and where to be. I don’t make the rules here, okay?

  • Where does HPH donate race proceeds?

We love where we run, so we aim to donate as many of our proceeds as possible back into the community and use only a small amount for HPH operations. For specifics on where your money goes, please check out the individual races for more information.

Other Questions

Don’t see your question answered here? That’s okay, I guess we can’t cover everything under the sun or we’d be here longer than those crazy ultrarunners take just to finish a dang race. Go visit our contact us page where you can shoot us a message and we’ll get back to you faster than your local Strava legend can run the mile. Promise.
